Leader In Me is School-Wide Initiative

Based on author Stephen Covey’s “The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People”, “The Leader in Me” is a school-wide initiative that teaches principles such as leadership, accountability, adaptability, initiative, responsibility, problem-solving, communication, creativity and teamwork. What “The Leader in Me” does is teach children to empower themselves, to manage their learning, to manage their futures — to learn how to be good husbands and wives and employees, and ultimately good citizens of the community.

  • LEAD groups are designed according to student interest.  This gives students an opportunity to build confidence doing something they love.
  • Students help lead these groups and learn to work as a team to conquer their goals they want to meet.
  • Students at the Middle School are now in charge of planning their events.  They are learning to contact community members, gather price quotes, work in committees, and meet deadlines.

Bloomsdale Elementary, Ste. Genevieve Elementary and Ste. Genevieve Middle School has implemented this program into their weekly schedule.  Students are blossoming in their lead roles.

There are numerous lead groups available at each school.  Here is a listing of some of the choices:
