On March 20, 2017, Officer Christy Clark and Deputy Jeff McCarty spent the morning with Preschool and Kindergarten students at Bloomsdale Elementary School. The mission of the visit was to complete the Ste. Genevieve Co. ID Program, which involves gathering height, weight, photograph, fingerprints and voice recording of the students. Forms were sent home and returned with parent approval prior to the days activities. The child was weighed, measured, photographed, and answered a few questions while being recorded and fingerprinted. The process took an average of 6 minutes per child. The information was put onto ID cards which are double sided and laminated. One side shows the photograph and name and the back side shows the fingerprints. Each student goes home with 2 sets of laminated cards, a CD with the same information and a printout of the information that is on the cards. The information gathered is not stored or saved in the computer for any reason. The event was also held on March 22, March 29, and March 30 at Ste. Genevieve Elementary with Preschool and Kindergarten students.
