Members from the Ste. Genevieve FFA Chapter recently visited with first grade students at Ste. Genevieve Elementary and Valle Catholic School to teach them the importance of dairy cattle production. First grade students participated in activities including matching dairy products and sorting food products by types of ingredients. First grade students also had the opportunity of milking a cow and playing dairy trivia. Students learned how milk is processed from cow to store. FFA taught the youth about the products made from milk that they eat. The students were served ice cream at the end of the day. Funding for the “Ag in the Classroom” program was provided by a grant written by the FFA from Missouri Farm Bureau.
