Third-grade students at Ste. Genevieve Elementary were introduced to Missouri Kids Unplugged on December 5th. Missouri Kids Unplugged offers a variety of fun, safe and healthy activities for youth to take part in, as opposed to being “plugged in” to their devices. Providing a creative outlet such as gardening, recycling, fishing, kayaking, and healthier living, are a few of the options discussed.
Founder and President, Mr. Tony Krieg, and Vice-President, Mr. Rodney Bickel were in the classroom explaining the importance and proper recycling practices, especially with electronics. Next, students were given a hands-on presentation along with an opportunity to disassemble broken electronics. Students were able to take away an appreciation for technology and learn to minimize its’ negative effects on our world.
