Three students at Ste. Genevieve High School created a social media campaign December 18-20 called Stress is a Pest which gave tips and information on healthy ways to relieve stress. The project is a part of the students’ STAR Event for Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) and addresses ways for teens and elementary students to deal with stress in healthy ways. Jadyn LeClere, Grace Robinson, and Emily Abt created Twitter, Facebook and Instagram accounts and sent messages about positive ways to manage stress. The students handed out stress balls to Ste. Genevieve High School during final exam week and gave flyers regarding informational tips for parents of elementary students. Special thanks to KWayne Farms, Missouri Alliance Mutual Insurance, Marian Cliff Manor and the Zell Jaycee Hall for the generous donations to the funding of the stress balls. The students will be presenting this project later this month at the regional competition in Cape Girardeau.
