It is 8131 kilometers or 5052 miles between Zagreb, Croatia and Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, but you couldn’t tell this when students from these two parts of the world got together on a Global Collaboration call on January 30, 2018.
Students in Mr. Rhett Oldham’s history classes talked about a little bit of everything. Among the topics were school, classes, sports, after-school activities, music, Netflix, YouTube, games, food, and clothes. Surprisingly, the students even talked about what food to order at McDonald’s!
Students from both locations discovered that they had more in common than could have been imagined. The Croatians spoke good English, were easy to understand, and enjoyable to talk to. Giving students the chance to talk to new people and make new friends is what Global Collaborations are all about.
