SGHS French 2 Tour Holocaust Museum

French 2 students traveled to St Louis on Tuesday, February 27, to tour the St Louis Holocaust Museum. While at the museum, students were able to listen to Holocaust survivor, Rachel Miller, tell her story. Rachel, or Rachelle, lived in France during the war and survived the Rafle du Vel d’Hiv, the massive round-up and subsequent deportation of 13,000 foreign-born Jews in Paris in 1942. Rachel told students she survived because her mother had sent her to stay on a farm in the country 3 days before the round-up. Rachel is the only surviving member of her immediate family. Before the tour, students ate lunch at La Bonne Bouchée, a French restaurant, and bakery in Creve Coeur.
