Prom Assembly

Ste. Genevieve High School held an assembly on Thursday, April 5, 2018, prior to their Prom on Saturday. Gracie Thomure, Jadyn Bauman, and Brooke Weiler, members of the SGHS Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) chapter served as emcees for the assembly. The prom court participated in a game which was the entertaining part of the assembly. The students then welcomed Guest Speakers Penny Lorenz and Chad Burton, of Think First Missouri.  Both Penny and Chad suffered injuries as a result of a vehicle crash, and they shared their stories with the students. Through the presentation, students learned the importance of seat belts, not texting while driving and, most importantly, just how fast your life can change forever. FCCLA also sponsored a traffic safety talk for all 11th-grade students that was presented by Ste. Genevieve County Sheriff’s Deputy Jacob Hutchings on Friday.
