Congratulations to junior Aiyana Evers, who was recently chosen for the High School Apprenticeship Program (HSAP) sponsored by the U.S. Army Research Office (ARO). Through this program, high school juniors and seniors are offered an authentic science and engineering research experience alongside university researchers. Aiyana will spend two months as an apprentice in Dr. Arpita Bose’s Laboratory at Washington University in St. Louis!

Over the summer, students are introduced to Army critical research areas in a university lab setting. Not only will Aiyana be able to develop skills and the background to prepare for competitive entry to science and engineering undergraduate programs, but she will have the added benefit of access to her mentor’s scientific or engineering expertise.
