SGMS Spellers Advance to Conference Bee

Three students from Ste. Genevieve Middle School represented the district at the 2019-2020 conference spelling bee on Tuesday, Feb. 4, at North County High School. All three students—sixth grader Madden Wolk, eighth grader Hannah Woodruff and eighth grader Sophia DeRousse—made it to the third round of the competition! Thirty contestants from area schools participated.

To determine which students participate in the conference competition, SGMS holds its annual school spelling bee, which was held on Jan. 16. SGMS English Language Arts teachers Ashley Mertzlufft and Kelly Jokerst manage the school bee each year. Congratulations to our students for representing our middle school!
