Narcan - Emergency Medicine Notification — The Ste. Genevieve R-II School District Board of Education has approved the emergency medicine, Narcan, to be utilized by trained school employees, if needed. The physician standing orders shall be updated to state:

Narcan (naloxone Hcl) Nasal Spray Standing Order: If a nurse or trained staff member believes, based on his/her training, that a student/staff member is having a life-threatening opioid overdose episode, then Narcan may be administered per 4mg/0.1mL intranasal spray and if no response, may be repeated every 2 to 3 minutes. Beginning in the 2020-21 school year, the annual Student Health Profile will state that parents and guardians shall provide the school with written notification if their child(ren) should not receive Narcan Nasal Spray.
