Spanish Classes Integrate Technology into Lessons

Students in high school Spanish teacher Ingrid McCaskie’s high school Spanish classes have had the opportunity to experience lessons in new ways with technology integration into the classroom. Last year, students from Spanish 2, Spanish 3 and Spanish 4 had the opportunity to speak in Spanish with students attending an American school in Tampico, Mexico. Mr. Oldham, a social studies teacher in the middle school, made the contact in order to set up the virtual visit. Students utilized Padlet, a collaborative online service. Students also used Mondopads to have Google Hangout conversations. This year, students in Spanish 3 and Spanish 4 also studied earthquakes in Spanish-speaking countries using the Virtual Reality Google Cardboard.
