Students Learn About Honeybees & Pollination

On May 15, Paul Koeper, from Perryville, visited to do a presentation about honeybees for the preschool and kindergarten students at Ste. Genevieve Elementary. Students learned about the different kinds of bees that live in a hive and their duties (queen bee, worker bees and drone bees). Mr. Koeper discussed the importance of bees in the process of pollination and how that affects the growth of our fruits and vegetables. He also showed the students the inside of the beehive and gave sample honey to the students and teachers to take home.
