Contemporary Issues Students Take on "Speed News" Activity

In Contemporary Issues teacher Teresa Merz's class last week, her students were exposed to several news stories in rapid succession through a "speed news" technique, where the students had less than 30 seconds with each peer to share a news story and write down the facts before moving on. The exercise showed students that even with a few minutes a day, it's possible to quickly stay up-to-date with what is going on around us, even with our busy schedules.
