Congratulations to the Bloomsdale Elementary robotics teams for competing in their first competition and being recognized with an award! Twelve students attended the VEX IQ Challenge at St. Joseph Elementary School in Farmington. In total, 21 teams participated in the event and were judged on skills, programming, robot builds and driving skills.

One Bloomsdale Elementary team was awarded the Judges’ Award for showing leadership through adversity. The judges were impressed by the team’s positive attitude and engagement with the judges and other teams throughout the competition. Members of this team were Jake Parker, Ashtyn Neel, Alex Sartori and Kate Rowland. Josie Sansoucie, Kennedy Bowen, Riyley Dutton, Katie Vogt, Ella-Grace Gansner, William Elder, Launa Gegg and Gaige Bone were the other robotics members from Bloomsdale Elementary. Mrs. Amy Rowland, Mr. Nate Kingery and Ms. Ashley Gettinger are the team’s coaches. The next and final competition for this year will be Feb. 8 at Mineral Area College.
