Bloomsdale Elementary recently participated in the Great Kindness Week Challenge.  This week was held January 28th-February 1st. Schools across the nation submit acts of kindness to https://thegreatkindnesschallenge.com/.

Bloomsdale Elementary participates in the Leader in Me Program. It is important that students lead this week. 16 4th Grade students volunteered their recess time in November, December, and January to help plan this event. The students had a mission statement wanting to inspire respect and kindness at BLE while having fun. Students shared acts of kindness that inspired them on the daily announcements. Students organized dress up days and created posters around the school. Students wrote letters to all faculty and staff at BLE to spread kindness. They even read books and taught lessons to students in Pre-K, K, and 1st grade. Students played school wide Bingo and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place was awarded. Prizes were donated by Bloomsdale PTO.

This group was inspired to provide shirts for the entire staff and student body that promote kindness. The students held a raffle to raise the money. Students could buy tickets to win a season pass on Mrs. Rowland’s couch, to pie a 4th grader in the face, or to be Principal for the day. Fourth Grader Riylan Stemler was principal at BLE on Wednesday, January 30th. Mrs. Zuspann attended 4th grade classes for him this day. Several classrooms were inspired and facilitated their own random acts of kindness projects throughout the school.
