Do The Right Thing Recognizes Rhinehart

“Do The Right Thing” of Greater St. Louis, held a recognition ceremony on December 13, 2017, at the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. The mission of the organization is to work in partnership with area law enforcement agencies, schools, media and businesses to recognize and promote the positive social behaviors of school-aged youth. The students who attended were selected from over 100 nominations of youth being recognized for the good things they do.

One of the top ten December recognized students was SGMS 8th grader, Garrett Rhinehart. Garrett is the son of Jeremy & Amanda Rhinehart.  Garrett had found a cell phone on Ste. Genevieve School grounds the day after the High School Marching Band Festival. After contemplating on what to do with the phone, he chose to call and make contact with the owner of the phone. The phone belonged to a high school student from out of town who had attended the band festival over the weekend. Garrett was able to reunite the owner with his lost cell phone. The owner of the phone came to Ste. Genevieve Middle School to pick up the phone and left a monetary reward for Garrett.
