The Noelle and Wibbenmeyer Lead Families from Ste. Genevieve Elementary collected items to be donated to the local animal shelter. This Lead family synergized together and created a plan in early November to help their furry little friends. Lead Family teachers and students made signs, wrapped a box to collect items, and spread the word about their event. Along with the drive, the student’s also hosted a “holiday spirit week.” During the last week of classes, the students had a chance to wear Christmas pajamas, dress as their favorite Christmas character, and wear their favorite holiday attire. The drive collected dog and cat food, collars, leashes, blankets, towels, bowls, treats, and toys, and any spare change. The students collected a total of 240 items, and $120. The animal shelter will use these items to continue to serve Ste. Genevieve county and give our furry friends a happiest of holidays!
