During the week of January 21-27, communities across the state honored the dedicated service of local boards of education during School Board Recognition Week, as proclaimed by Governor Eric Greitens. The goal was to build awareness and understanding of the important function an elected board of education plays in communities and schools. All Missouri citizens were asked to recognize the important contributions of these men and women and focus attention on the vital role these public officials play in the education of Missouri’s children.
School Board Recognition Week was sponsored by the Missouri School Boards’ Association. MSBA is a private, not-for-profit organization that exists to help school boards succeed.
The Ste. Genevieve R-II School Board was recognized at their scheduled meeting on Tuesday, January 16, 2018. The members were presented with a certificate from the Missouri School Boards’ Association and a gift bag from the Ste. Genevieve Middle School Student Council. At the upcoming February 20, 2018, meeting, students from Bloomsdale Elementary and Ste. Genevieve Elementary will have additional thank you gifts for the board members.
