Bloomsdale Elementary Kindness Week

Bloomsdale Elementary participates in the Leader in Me program and this challenge offered an excellent opportunity for the students to step up and lead. Fourth Grade students volunteered their recess time in November, December, and January to help plan this event. The students wrote a Mission Statement to inspire respect and kindness at BLE, while still having fun. Students shared acts of kindness that inspired them on the daily announcements, organized dress up days to get kids excited and created posters which were displayed around the school. Students also wrote letters to all faculty and staff at BLE to spread kindness. Fourth graders taught a lesson to Pre-K and K students asking the students to help deliver cupcakes to all the teachers and express to their teachers how much they were loved. Student-created videos were used to demonstrate great examples of kindness that were shown in classrooms and the cafeteria.Several classrooms were inspired by the activities and facilitated their own random acts of kindness projects throughout the school. The videos can be viewed on the Bloomsdale Elementary Facebook page.
