Congratulations to Sophia DeRousse, the Elks Student of the Month for March from Ste. Genevieve High School. Sophia is the daughter of Jen and Joe DeRousse.
Sophia’s scholastic honors include: being ranked in the top 10 percent of her graduating senior class, being ranked 6th in class, being on A Honor Roll, earning Summa Cum Laude, and winning numerous class awards, including the Pre-Calc and Band awards. Sophia has also been involved in a number of clubs and organizations, including National Honor Society, Family, Career and Community Leaders of America, Future Business Leaders of America, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Students Against Destructive Decisions, Tri-M Music Honor Society, and Cheer for four years and Band for four years.
In her free time, Sophia enjoys spending time with family and hanging out with friends. She is employed at Dairy Queen. Sophia plans to attend Southeast Missouri State University to major in biomedical sciences and study in their pre-med program.
