Ste. Genevieve Elementary Parents Join Physical Education Classes

Ste. Genevieve Elementary held its “Bring a Parent or Guardian to P.E.” event for the 5th grade students in December. This event is coordinated by elementary P.E. Coach Dennis Kreitler. During this time, parents or guardians have the opportunity to join their child’s P.E. time for a workout in the Ste. Genevieve Elementary Gym.

This year’s event began with stretches led by the Stretch Leader in each class. This was followed by Agilities; Rock, Paper, Scissors Baseball; Spin the Pin Tag or Secret Agent Tag; and skill-based throwing and catching activities from Team Save the Statues and Boom City games. During game activities, students took time to conference with their parent or guardian on their Fall FitnessGram testing results that were recorded on a Google Sheet. This was the second year the school held the event.

“We had a total of 68 adults who attended this year’s event throughout the week,” Coach Kreitler said. “Everyone enjoyed the activities. For me, the best part of this event is seeing the positive interaction, where everyone is working out together.”
