Bloomsdale Elementary Fourth Grade Students Participate in Book Talk

Last week, several fourth grade students had the opportunity to participate in a book talk with students at Roosevelt Elementary in Farmington. Ste. Genevieve R-II Library Aide Sarah Carlson and Farmington R-7 Librarian Missy Tisher, coordinated the talk via Google Hangouts.

Three students from Roosevelt Elementary gave Bloomsdale students a recommendation on a book they had read, including “The Bad Guys” series by Aaron Blabey, “Best Friends” by Shannon Hale and “Took” by Mary Downing Hahn. The first year that Mrs. Carlson and Mrs. Tisher (daughter of former Bloomsdale Elementary Librarian Leeta Berry) held a Book Talk, the Bloomsdale students recommended books to the students at Roosevelt Elementary.

Mrs. Carlson plans to hold the next Book Talk on March 2, to celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday!
