To our SG R-II Families:
We wanted to share with you that at the regularly scheduled Board of Education meeting last night, the Board approved the addition of a professional development day to be held on Monday, Nov. 2. There will be no school for students on this day.
Over the past several weeks, our administrators have requested a professional development day be added to the 2020-2021 calendar. The district’s Calendar Committee discussed several options and decided upon the first Monday in November. Scheduling the professional development day on Nov. 2 will extend this three-day weekend to four days and give our families more time together.
This day will provide our teachers with the opportunity to dedicate this time to planning their teaching strategies and tactics, including building upon their virtual instruction, if needed. This will be a professional development day for all employees in order to support those needing additional assistance managing virtual instruction and to support the educational process.
We thank you for your understanding and support, as we know that this professional development day is necessary for our faculty and staff at this time. Our Calendar Committee strived to find the date they felt would work best for our SG R-II family as a whole.
