Cheerleaders go to Camp

The Ste. Genevieve High School cheerleaders participated in a National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) home camp from June 20th through June 22nd. They learned cheers, chants, stunts, team building, and dances from NCA instructors. The SGHS cheer team earned many awards. They received the Technical Excellence Award for Stunts & Dance and the STUNT S.A.F.E. Award. They received the Herkie Team Award for having the qualities NCA was founded on including leadership, teamwork, values and sportsmanship. The team also got a National Championship Bid and received NFHS Squad Credentialing. Everyone on the team received a Special Event Invitation to go the NCA Special Events.

Karissa Holst, Timothy (Hunter) Nelms, Tristan Orine, Chloe Walker, and Soraya Zerwig were all nominated for the NCA All American program. This is an individual award to recognize those who have strong personal values, superior technical skills and leadership. Congratulations to Karissa and Tristan who were named NCA All American!
