Bloomsdale Elementary Fifth Grade Students Discuss Transition to Middle School

Toward the end of the school year, fifth grade students at Bloomsdale Elementary had the opportunity to talk with sixth grade students at Ste. Genevieve Middle School virtually! Bloomsdale Elementary counselor Amy Rowland said that this talk helped to ease the fifth grade students’ nerves about making the transition to middle school next year.

Over Zoom, the fifth grade students asked about a variety of topics, and the sixth grade students answered their questions and helped get them excited about this new adventure. Some of the areas discussed included: questions about the different electives, such as Art and Industrial Technology, where students get to work with hands-on projects; the freedom to sit wherever they want at lunch, getting to know the students from Ste. Genevieve Elementary and local schools, and getting more chances to talk with friends and grow those friendships. Check out some of the photos from their conversation below!
