2023 SGHS Yearbook Recognized as Gallery of Excellence Inductee

The hard work and creativity of the Ste. Genevieve High School yearbook staff earned the 2023 Ste. Genevieve High School yearbook a rank in the Gallery of Excellence from Walsworth Yearbooks. Congratulations to the 2023 SGHS yearbook staff members for having their 2023 SGHS yearbook recognized with this prestigious honor reserved for the highest quality student publications.

“Your publication is a shining example of yearbook at its very best,” President Don Walsworth said. “Because of books like yours, many others will be inspired to create their own quality journalistic book. You were able to not only capture the essence of your school year, but you also taught your students valuable life and career skills along the way.”

The 2023 yearbook staff members who created the award-winning book include then-seniors and current graduates: Abigayle Bauman, Hannah Bley, Lindsey Crump, Larissa Donze, Madison Flieg, Julia Lemons, Cassidy Lorance, Logan Moore, Alexis Parmer, Taylor Parson, Kyleigh Przygoda, Brynna Wehner, Cameron Wolf, and Mallory Wolk.

Yearbook adviser Mrs. Jessica Harlow shared that the staff’s goal was to create a yearbook that showed a personal piece of each student, and one way that they did this was to incorporate student-created doodles from the student body. “We also wanted to create something memorable for its uniqueness, so we went with a ripped, magazine style that sometimes broke traditional yearbook style rules,” she shared.

The Gallery of Excellence yearbooks are prominently featured at workshops to provide students and advisers across the country with inspiration and solid demonstrations of scholastic journalism. The 2023 Ste. Genevieve High School Yearbook will be highlighted at regional, state and national conventions. The cover, spread, photos and coverage ideas from the book will be included on the Walsworth Yearbooks website, as well as in the group’s educational materials.
