Each year, the Department of Agriculture’s Building Our American Communities (BOAC) Grant Program provides grants to Missouri 4-H clubs and FFA chapters for projects aimed at developing and advancing Missouri’s rural communities. Our Ste. Genevieve FFA has been chosen for the 2022 BOAC program!
Grants of up to $500 have been awarded to eight Missouri FFA chapters and eight 4-H clubs to support projects that benefit an agricultural community and/or promote community development. Projects can include improvements to existing facilities, grounds or buildings that are used by various groups or organizations in the applicant’s community.
FFA members and students in Ste. Genevieve High School’s Landscaping course write the application for the grant, and the students have received the grant every year they have submitted the application. The students then utilize the funds to plant shrubs and help maintain the grounds around Ste. Genevieve County R-II School District.
