Ste. Genevieve High School will celebrate homecoming the week of Sept. 12-17. SGHS announced the week’s activities, including the parade, the football game, the dance, and spirit days.
Homecoming Theme:
The theme for this year’s homecoming is “Movies.” For each class, the sub-themes follow:
Freshmen: Ghostbusters
Sophomores: Toy Story
Juniors: Monsters, Inc.
Seniors: Top Gun
Dress-Up days:
Monday, Sept. 12 - Generation Day
Seniors dress up like senior citizens
Juniors dress up like middle-aged parents
Sophomores dress up like college or frat/sorority students
Freshmen dress up like babies
Tuesday, Sept. 13 - Sparkle/Glitter Day
Wear sparkles, glitter, shimmery, or glistening clothing, shoes, jewelry, etc.
Wednesday, Sept. 14 - Dress Like Your Class Theme
Seniors - Top Gun
Juniors - Monsters, Inc.
Sophomores - Toy Story
Freshmen - Ghostbusters
Thursday, Sept. 15 - Disney vs. Marvel Day
Dress up like your favorite Disney or Marvel character

Spirit Night/Powder Puff game - starts at 6 p.m. Parents and community welcome!

Parade at 5 p.m.
Varsity Football vs. Fredericktown at 7 p.m.

Parade Rain Make-Up at 10 a.m.
Homecoming Dance from 7 - 10 p.m.
Homecoming Parade:
The parade is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 16, from the SGHS student parking lot.
Participating vehicles must be registered in advance by Friday, Sept. 9.
Registered vehicles should only be on the lot by 4 p.m.
Riders in the parade should be present by 4:30 p.m.
Parade Route: Fifth to Washington, Washington to Main, Main to Merchant, Merchant to Third, Third to Market, Market to Fourth, Fourth to Washington, Washington to Fifth, and Fifth back to the student parking lot.
Saturday, Sept. 17, will be the make-up date for the parade in case of inclement weather. If the parade has to be moved to this date, it will be held at 10 a.m.
All alumni classes and community organizations are invited to participate in the parade. If you would like to get your group registered for the parade, please contact Kyle Schweiss by Friday, Sept. 9 at 3 p.m. at krschweiss@sgdragons.org or 883-4500, extension #2160. Along with this year's court, class floats, marching bands, and school organizations, the retiring Homecoming Queen, Isabel Basler, from the Class of 2021, will also be featured in the parade.
