Election Results

On April 2, 2024, voters re-elected David Bova and Geralyn Diesel to the Ste. Genevieve County R-II Board of Education. This will be David Bova’s fifth term on the Board, and Geri Diesel’s second. The two will be sworn in at 6:30 p.m. on April 16, 2024, at a Reorganizational Session scheduled prior to the Regular Meeting. The Board will also select officers at this time. Mr. Bova and Mrs. Diesel will begin their next terms alongside current board members Eric Basler, James Kirchner, Martha Resinger, Jamie Ballew and Josh Gettinger on the Ste. Genevieve R-II Board of Education.

Mr. Bova currently holds the office of Board President on the Board of Education. He is the Community Development Administrator for the City of Ste. Genevieve, a position he has held for the past six years. Prior to this role, he worked as a retail business manager for 25 years. Mr. Bova is a member of the Ste. Genevieve County Fair Board, Ste. Genevieve Rotary, and Foundation for Restoration of Ste. Genevieve. He and his wife, Julie, have volunteered through various initiatives in the community, including Project Graduation, Jour De Fete, PTA and other organizations. Mrs. Diesel currently holds the office of Secretary on the Board of Education. She has served as a teacher, administrator, and school board member for 19 years in the Ste. Genevieve County R-II School District. During her tenure in public education, she spent eight years as a Ste. Genevieve Middle School science teacher and fifth grade teacher at Ste. Genevieve Elementary, working on her master’s and specialist degrees from Southeast Missouri State. She completed her career in 2020 after eight years as an administrator at Ste. Genevieve Elementary, three as assistant principal and five as the principal. To learn more about Geri Diesel, click here.

Community members Mike Wolk and Norman Vogt also ran for the two open seats on the Board of Education. The Ste.
