Bloomsdale Elementary Holds Annual Career Day

Recently, fifth grade students at Bloomsdale Elementary had the opportunity to visit various local businesses as part of their annual Career Day! Students spent time visiting several local business professionals and organizations. Some of these included industrial and engineering technology, business management and marketing, veterinary care, health and human services, and conservation.

Mrs. Rowland and the fifth grade faculty and students would like to thank the following local businesses and professionals who took the time to help plan the event: Anheuser Animal Clinic; Baetje Farms and Kozy Kitchen; Bloomsdale Excavating; the Bloomsdale Fire Department; Bloomsdale Medical Center; LafargeHolcim; Lemon Theory; Mid America Rehab; Missouri Conservation Department Agent Rob Sulkowski; One Eleven Olive; the Ste. Genevieve County Ambulance District; Ste. Genevieve County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Finch; Valley Abloom and Wee World.

Students learned about becoming an entrepreneur, the process of making and marketing consumer products, the various tools and equipment used by fire departments, EMTs, and sheriffs’ offices, and much more. Thanks to careful planning and collaboration among staff and community members, our students experienced fun, informational sessions about possible careers!

The faculty and students would also like to thank the teachers and bus drivers who kept the students safe throughout the day, and the Bloomsdale Elementary PTO for sponsoring the buses to transport students from each location!
