On Oct. 16, SGMS and SGHS flutists participated in a flute masterclass taught by Dr. Shelly Monier, Director of Wind Studies/Flute Instructor at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and President of the Flute Society of St. Louis. Dr. Monier worked on introductory and advanced techniques of playing the flute with students. Our students learned some great tips and tricks, and had fun too!
Dr. Monier is a graduate of Perryville High School, and she is also a Ste. Genevieve Municipal Band Alum! Thank you, Dr. Monier, for sharing your expertise with our students!
