The Ste. Genevieve R-II Band program would like to thank the local businesses and service organizations that generously awarded a total of $3,440 in tuition scholarships for middle school and high school band students to attend the 2025 Mineral Area Fine Arts Academy Summer Band Camps. These camps are held on the campus of Mineral Area College in Park Hills and offer valuable opportunities for musical growth and enrichment.
Eight scholarships were awarded to students attending the Dave Dickey Big Band Camp, which focuses on big band jazz and improvisation. Participants spend the week learning from professional jazz musicians and educators, culminating in a high-energy concert that showcases their progress and new skills.
An additional twelve scholarships were awarded for the Middle School Concert Band Camp. This camp brings together middle school musicians from across the region to rehearse and perform in a full concert band. The week concludes with an impressive performance for family and friends.
The Ste. Genevieve R-II Band program is sincerely grateful for the continued support of our community. Your investment in our students’ musical education helps them grow as artists and individuals. We’re incredibly proud of these students for their dedication and enthusiasm to keep learning—even during summer break. We look forward to hearing their hard work come to life at the concerts at MAC!
