Congratulations to Ste. Genevieve R-II Board of Education for achieving the Missouri School Boards’ Association 2020 Governance Team Award!

This recognition is based on the outstanding commitment to ongoing professional development, to regional and statewide leadership, and to active participation in legislative advocacy for public schools by a district’s school board and superintendent. School boards and superintendents who receive this award demonstrate the value of ongoing learning for continuous improvement.

Recipients of the award have met the following criteria:

  • The district is fully accredited.

  • All seven school board members have obtained Essential CBM certification from MSBA.

  • At least two board members have attained the Advanced CBM level of certification from MSBA.

  • At least one board member has attained the Master’s level of certification from MSBA.

  • At least a quorum of the board and superintendent attended MSBA’s 2019 Annual Conference and a regional meeting during the past year.

  • A district representative attended MSBA’s 2020 Legislative Forum.

  • A board representative participated in MSBA’s Delegate Assembly.

"We are incredibly proud to share with our community that our Ste. Genevieve R-II Board of Education earned this honor for the second year in a row,” Superintendent Dr. Julie Flieg says. “We want to thank this wonderful group for their focus and dedication to decision-making that is always in the best interest of our students!”

This year, 26 Missouri school boards received the award out of Missouri’s 518 school districts. Ste. Genevieve R-II received this award in 2019 and in 2016. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, governance teams will be formally recognized during the MSBA Annual Conference in Cooperation with the Missouri Association of School Administrators in September.
