SGHS Hosts First Alumni Health Care Panel

Ste. Genevieve High School recently hosted its first Alumni Health Care Panel, offering juniors and seniors a firsthand look at careers in the medical field through the experiences of local professionals. A group of 19 health care professionals—many of them SGHS alumni—participated in the panel, representing a range of fields including nursing, therapy services, pharmacy, physician assistants and radiology.

Panelists shared insights into their career paths, discussed day-to-day responsibilities and answered student questions, helping provide a clearer picture of what a future in health care can look like. The event created a valuable connection between students and professionals who were once in their same classrooms, offering real-world perspective and guidance as students begin to explore postsecondary options.

“We want to take a moment to highlight the outstanding Healthcare Alumni Panel that our rootEd advisor Ms. Erin Stoll organized during DragonFIRE,” said Dr. John Boyd, SGHS principal. “It was a special experience to see so many of our graduates return to SGHS to speak with our students about careers in health care and the paths that led them there. Opportunities like this are powerful for our students, and we are grateful to Ms. Stoll for coordinating such a meaningful event.”

The district extends its appreciation to the following alumni and community members who shared their time and expertise with students: Lindsay Anderson, Jenna Deken, Mallory Francis, Logan Gegg, Enriqueta Hill, Samantha Kertz, Nicole Lalumondiere, Kamrie Meyer, Amanda Nesslein, Missy Naeger, Emma Roe, Rikki Schaeffer, Brandi Schwartz, Kindal Stoll, Stephanie Stuppy, Kelsey Carron, Sara Vogt, Carrie Walls, Nolan Walls, Ashley Wood.

The Ste. Genevieve County R-II School District is grateful for the continued support of its alumni and community partners in creating meaningful, real-world learning experiences for students.
