Ste. Genevieve County R-II School District recently received 230 tourniquets from MLC, formerly Mississippi Lime Company, to add to safety kits throughout the district.
Roxanne Joggerst, US Controller at MLC, purchased the tourniquets to help strengthen the emergency response supplies available in SG R-II schools. MLC Senior Safety Manager Scott Drury and Mine Safety and Health Inspector Brady Sebastian helped represent MLC in the effort.
The donation grew from collaboration between Dani Vaeth of the Ste. Genevieve County Health Department and SG R-II School Resource Officer Christy Clark, who worked together to get the initiative underway.
The 230 tourniquets will be incorporated into the district’s safety kits, providing an additional emergency resource for use in situations involving severe bleeding.
SG R-II appreciates MLC and its continued investment in the safety and well-being of local students, staff and schools, as well as the Ste. Genevieve County Health Department for its partnership in helping bring this effort together.
