SGMS Art Students Receive Recognition in St. Louis Kaplan Holocaust Museum’s Art & Writing Contest

This past school year, Ste. Genevieve Middle School eighth grade students read the book “Night” by Elie Wiesel in their English-Language Arts class. This novel is a memoir sharing Elie’s time in a concentration camp during the Holocaust.

Eighth grade Art 3 students then created a post for the St. Louis Kaplan Holocaust Museum’s Art & Writing Contest. This year’s contest theme was Lessons of the Past… Promises of a Future. We are proud to share that two of our eighth grade students received an Honorable Mention recognition, as well as a $25 gift certificate for their exceptional artwork: Kayla Young’s “Lost Lives,” and Mallory Rottler’s “Indifference.”
