Ste. Genevieve Preschool Students Learn About Fire Safety & Prevention

Recently, SGE preschool students had the opportunity to learn about fire prevention and firefighters’ work! Mrs. Sara Carlson and Alan Schilli from Ozora Fire Department visited the preschoolers to read a story and discuss ways the children could stay safe if they were ever in a burning building or house.

Alan dressed in turnout gear, explaining the importance of each item he put on. This also provided an opportunity for the children to see a firefighter up close dressed in all his gear and to ensure that they knew he was friendly and there to save their lives if ever in a fire.  The students also took a look at all the equipment found in a fire truck and discussed the uses of some of the tools!
