Congratulations to Lana Kemper, the SGHS Rotary Student of the Month for May! Lana is the daughter of Della and Toby Kemper.
Lana's scholastic honors include: being ranked in the top 15% of her class and earning A Honor Roll each semester. She earned the designation of Summa Cum Laude in the 2020-2021 school year. Lana has been involved in her class as an active member of Student Council, SADD, FRIENDS, Mentors and FTA. She is also involved in numerous leadership positions with the following organizations: treasurer of FCCLA, secretary of FBLA, treasurer of Interact club, and secretary of National Honor Society. Lana has been varsity manager for the SGHS girls basketball team and has been a member of the volleyball team and the track team. This past summer, she attended Missouri Girls State.
Lana works for Kona Ice in the summer. In her free time, she enjoys lifting weights, fishing, and trips to Goodwill. Lana is also very active in volunteering with the Vincentian Marian Youth Organization. Lana plans to attend University of Montana-Western and major in Secondary Education with a minor in Special Education.
