FFA Students Guide Preschool Students in Planting a Garden

Over the past few months, the Ste. Genevieve Elementary preschool students had the opportunity to learn about plants and develop their own garden with the help and guidance of Ste. Genevieve High School Future Farmers of America (FFA) students. The high school students built the raised bed and donated many plants that they grew from seeds. The preschoolers planted their own radishes, lettuce and sunflowers!

Throughout the last few weeks, there have been many learning opportunities involved in the process from plant exploration to working on beginning sounds and letters to mark each plant. The preschool students enjoy these activities, all while gaining unique learning experiences. With views right outside the classroom window, the preschool students have watched their plants grow!
