Ste. Genevieve Elementary Students Recognized in National Anthem Singing Contest

Students at Ste. Genevieve Elementary and surrounding schools were invited to participate in the “Get Excited for the Red, White & Blue” national anthem singing competition for youth in grades K-12. This competition is sponsored by the VFW Post 2210 Auxiliary.

Two students from Ste. Genevieve Elementary were chosen as contest winners! First place went to fourth grader Grace Lipp, and second place went to fifth grader Sydney Nesslein. Grace Lipp’s first place entry will go on to the district level competition.

Several participants completed vocal entries from Ste. Genevieve Elementary.  Some of the judging criteria for the singing competition included vocal ability, mastery of lyrics, interpretation, and entertainment value.

Shown below is Lois Flieg from the VFW Post 2210 Auxiliary presenting Grace Lipp and Sydney Nesslein with their prizes. Congratulations to these students on their recognition!
