Our state qualifiers were: Soraya Zerwig-2nd, Geneva Crump-3rd, Shaun Uzzell-2nd, Katelyn Fuller-2nd, Clayton Huck-2nd, Katelyn Fuller and Addie Taylor-1st, and Brooke Weiler-1st. The Speech and Debate team took home a 2nd place sweepstakes trophy, too!

SGHS Competitive Speech/Debate districts had finalists in 12 events and qualified for state in SEVEN events! Results: Vela Lightle-5th, Tristan Orine-4th, Addie-5th, Katie Chapman and Sydney Bumgardaner-3rd, Ali Werner and Blake Young-2nd and Jesse Pinkley and Geneva Crump-7th.

Varsity Scholar Bowl team placed third in the MAAA Conference Scholar Bowl Tournament. The team captured victories against Kingston 320-50, West County 260-200, and Potosi 220-140. The team lost to Farmington 170-310 in the semi-finals, but defeated Arcadia Valley 190-100 to capture third place. A special congratulations to seniors Isaac Watson and Caleb Brewer who were named All-Conference Players. Isaac was the 10th place individual medalist and Caleb was the 2nd place individual medalist in the MAAA Conference.

Due to the threat of thunderstorms on Saturday, the baseball jamboree has been moved up to Friday with a 4:00 start.  The schedule will remain the same with SG vs. SV at 4:00, P'vill vs. SV at 5:00 and SG vs. P'ville at 6:00.

The SG Scholar Bowl team sweeps the night at Valley of Caledonia.  The Varsity Scholar Bowl team improves to 12-0 on the conference season with a 470-190 win over Potosi, 520-150 win over Park Hills Central, and  a 400-120 win over Valley of Caledonia! JV was also 3-0!
