A writing collaborative project between some of our 8th grade ELA and kindergarten students came to culmination this week. The stories starred the kindergartners. Our students went down and met their new friends and learned all about their favorite things. Then they created the stories with what they learned. We then returned to share a little about the book and the kindergarten students created the book covers and some of the illustrations. Our kiddos then brought it all together to finalize the books and presented them to their new kindergarten friends this week. #sgmsrocks #sgfamily

To kick off the week, we also get to celebrate and highlight the man at the helm of SGMS! If you know Dr. Mercer, you know he works hard, plays hard, and loves all things techy and Star Wars. His greatest skills are equipping our students and staff with what we need to do our best each day, providing necessary humor, loving on our kids, and making sure our building is operating at its greatest potential.
