SG R-II requires all athletes to have a physical completed once a year to be able to participate in practices or contests. SG R-II Families: To be cautious, the buses will be delayed and our students will be held an extra 10 minutes. Dismissal will be at 3:15 p.m. As a reminder, SG R-II follows specific emergency procedures, and we initiated storm protocols this afternoon. Once the tornado and thunderstorm warnings had subsided, students were sent back to class. Thank you.
Heads-Up: SADD will be launching a mock accident for the high school tomorrow, Friday, May 3, starting at 9:20 a.m. This mock accident scene will be set up behind the PAC. Please do not be alarmed if you see emergency vehicles and personnel on site, as they are all part of the event. Thank you!

Our first Ultimate Dragon of the year is Shaelyn Wolk! Shaelyn has received four Dragon on Fire Referrals this year with at least one in each of our three pillars: Family, Tradition, and Excellence. The latest referral written by one of our teachers for Shaelyn was too good not to share, "Shaelyn is always kind to others in all circumstances. She greets every teacher she has with such compassion and love. Shaelyn is a great inspiration to all students and truly embodies Dragon Integrity. SG Campus: This afternoon, there was a routine Shelter-In-Place at SGHS while K9 units did a typical sweep of the school & the parking lot. Reminder: Shelter in Place is used to keep students secure in their current location, & is initiated for a variety of reasons. There does not have to be an emergency for Shelter in Place to be enacted. Thank you, & have a great weekend!

On Sunday, April 14th SGMS Band and Fundamentals of Music students traveled to the Stifel Theatre in St. Louis to attend the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra's performance of Star Wars: The Last Jedi. The orchestra performed composer John Williams' original score live as the movie played on a giant screen suspended above the stage.

Middle School's Grade Level Assessment (aka MAP) Testing begins April 15 with 8th graders taking Science. The following week, all students will begin testing in English/Language Arts, and Mathematics will conclude this year's testing session the week of April 29. Please communicate with your students the importance of these tests and encourage them to give their full effort! Thank you for your support!
